Coder Dojo – Computer Programming for Kids

Restarts in centre on September 18th 2021

CoderDojo, Ballymun is a computer coding club for young people aged 7-17. It was established in 2017 and gives participants the opportunity to work with a group of technical mentors to learn more about developing computer games, building websites, and writing computer software using many different technologies including Scratch, Raspberry Pi, Lego Wedo and MaKey MaKey.

Our mentors are IT professionals, educators, parents, and students, who have a passion for technology and want to share that with the young people.

Students are encouraged to build on their knowledge and experiment at home between sessions. They are also encouraged to build and submit projects to the annual Coolest Projects event in May.

CoderDojo Ballymun is free to join, limited only by the number of places we can provide.

The club runs on Saturday mornings during school term from 11am – 1pm.  in 2021 the Dojo will make it’s own 3D printer and will continue to programme with different coding technologies.

All our staff and mentors are Garda Vetted.
